James Kruchowski, Senior Program Engineer, Mayo Clinic Division of Engineering
Jim Kruchowski is an Engineer at the Mayo Clinic Division of Engineering's Electronics Development Unit. His primary responsibilities include the design and development of electronic systems for biomedical applications, with expertise in high speed electronic design and custom packaging of implantable electronic devices. He has an extensive background in the application of semiconductor and micro-mechanical process fabrication techniques for custom biomedical applications and devices.
Jim has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Business with Distinction granted from the University of Minnesota. He joined the Mayo Clinic in 2001, with previous design and management experience at Intel Corporation and Cray Research, Inc. He has led multiple design-team efforts, and also has material and equipment sourcing experience in Korea and Japan. Over the course of his career he has been granted 9 patents in the areas of optical systems, integrated circuit (IC) processing, IC and system packaging, multi-chip module (MCM) design and fabrication, and electronic interconnect characterization. Previously, he also served on the organizing committees for multiple professional conference organizing efforts, including the DesignCon, the IEEE Computer and Systems Packaging Workshop, and the international electronics packaging society (IEPS). He has authored/ co-authored multiple papers and presentations within international journals and conferences.
