Daniel Mooradian, PhD, Honeywell/James J. Renier Chair in Technology Management, University of Minnesota - Technological Leadership Institute
Daniel L. Mooradian is the Honeywell/James J. Renier Chair in Technology Management at the Technological Leadership Institute of the University of Minnesota where he serves as the Director of Graduate Studies for TLI's Master of Science program in Medical Device Innovation, preparing students to be effective leaders in the Medical Technology Industry. Dan also teaches courses in medical device industry dynamics and technology foresight & forecasting.
Dan received his BS in Biological Science from the University of Michigan and his Ph.D. in Pathology from Wayne State University. A former member of the research faculty in Laboratory Medicine & Pathology and founding member of the Biomedical Engineering Department at the University of Minnesota, Dan's research focused on applied research in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. He was the founder and Director of the Blood and Biocompatibility Research Laboratory, providing critical research & testing support to the medical device industry.
Dan has spent the past 16+ years in the medical device industry. As the VP of R&D at Synovis Life Technologies during a period of significant growth, Dan contributed several innovative products to the company's product pipeline, culminating in the company's acquisition by Baxter International in 2013.
Dan remains active in the medical technology sector as the president of The Simpatico Group LLC and as an angel investor, consultant, advisor and Board member to both large and small companies.
